This is big news for American road racing. For the past 13 years, the two series have raced against each other. In an article by
Autoweek, it was announced this morning that the two racing series will merge together and combine forces in 2014. The 2013 season will showcase the two racing series seperately. However, both will be run by new chairman, Jim France. Former ALMS owner and founder Don Panoz will be the vice chairman. The first official race of the merger will be the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
